Garam Masala
Ingredients
Makes ¾ Cup (adjust this for ½ cup)
- Peppercorns 1 tbsp
- Cinnamon Sticks 5 oz
- Star Anise 4
- Mace 2 tsp or 8 whole blades
- Cloves 1 tbsp
- Green Cardamom 20 seeds
- Nutmeg 1 large seed
- Bay Leaves 4
- Coriander Seeds 1/3 Cups
- Jeera / Cumin Seeds 1/8 Cups
Method
- Heat all the whole spices in a pan on the stove over low heat until fragrant.
- Grind all the Spices in a Food Processor until it reaches a fine powder.
- Add any powder spices at this stage.
- Store in a glass jar in a cool dry place.
